Turbo Timer not required in GT-T?

I have been reading through the archives and have found that there is no need for the Caldina GT-T to have turbo timer since the turbo is water cooled.

Can someone confirm this is correct to the best of their knowledge?

I understand common sence is still required when turning car off after driving. i.e do not turn car off if it has been driven hard or spool up turbo and turn ignition off.

turbo timers arent really critical in any turbo car. like you say, if you use common sense and drive the last 500m home without being hard on boost itll probly do the same job.

i use a turbo that is watercooled from the factory, without watercooling and no turbo timer, i just take it nice and easy when im near my destination, or if need be let it idle for a while manually.

imo having the car idle on its own after youve locked it and walked away is essentially for wank factor.

I had a water cooler turbo and like flygt4 said just let it cool down manually or take it easy before you get to your destination. I once heard this guy got to work had the turbo timer running and when he got back after finishing work the car was still running. Dodgy t/timer ohwell.

Especially people who have them set for 5 minutes. Completely unnecessary.

I find it handy to keep my car running when i need to use my keys to open something else

I dont use mine to let it cool down tho.

Espically when you think of the BAD part of having a turbo timer.... (unless its part of the alarm, then its not SO bad).


Every wire needed to run the car goes to a little box...normally in nice easy reach of someone in the car.

What happens when someone grabs that box, cuts the wires and twists them together? You car engine will run (if you push start it).

Might as well leave a car key for the theives on your seat.
