What the heck?

I wired up a new head unit for someones car and then when we went to use it the first time we put a cd in and no sound came out, played with volume, nothing happened, drove about 30 kms put cd back in and it worked fine like nothing happened.

Any ideas what could have happened? How it could just suddenly work?

Sounds like a speaker wire is earthing out to the chassie.

I checked that. Theres no metal anywhere near the connections and its only two speakers. And it wasn't popping like I'm used to with earthing speakers. I'm not really worried anymore because the speakers go, just think its strange.

lose connection to start with and the drive bumped it into place?

if you sure your wiring is correct then possibly bad connection inside the hu, if its new take it back and tell them you want a new one

Yeah I'm thinking loose connection because I've triple checked all the wires
