Under shim buckets in a 4age

Anyone run undershim buckets in there 4ages and wat parts are they using because short of forking out for 1s? buckets im a little stuck.
Can 3sge ones be made to fit if i machine the head to suit? Has anyone done that before?

Why run under buckets?

Years ago we used to just weld a couple of small parts around the shim to the bucket once you get the tappets set right.
Only did that because of the large cams the celica had.
Was 1GGTE not a 4AGE, but same principal applies.

Once the valve clearance is set, you should not need to set them again.

Yeah another engine builder i know had done that on a couple of engines he had built so that mite be the way i go yet, just exploring options but thats defenently one of them. Oh and my reason was because the cams duration is a fair bit more than standerd.

and techniquly they are vitz as the echo never had the 1S.

yesh i can do good deals on them, but its still not a $100 option
