It's like Brendon said, it's the offset and tyre size as well, not just the width.
Go and see Mag and Turbo or something, they'll be able to work it out for ya.

Why do you want 18s anyway? I've got 15s on my AE92, they're all good. 18s are just going to kill the performance of your car.

i have sum 17' rims, there 205's. they rubed evan with the inner gaurd removed (in the frount) so i put sum 15's that were only 195's and there sweet as. also u can notice a big difference in the weight of the rims. (but i do have adjustibles:d, (but evan b4 i put them in i had the rub with the 17's) hope this helps
the faster u go, the quicker u get there

Na man, 4X100 is the spacing of your wheel studs.
The offset is how much the rim is offset from the hub face. If they stick out too far, they'll rub like hell on your guards. If they sit in too far, they run the risk of rubbing on your shocks and inner guards on full lock. Don't go too wide on your tyre size. Personally if you want to go big, go for some 17s, they'll be cheaper and tyres would be cheaper too. They'll still look damn big on a little AE92.
I'd say go for some 205/40R17 tyres on them.
Mag an Turbo always have special for tyre and mag combos, go and have a look see.

Cant remember the offset on mine, were 7 inch rims though with 215s on. Was lowered and didn't rub. Might pay to try some 18x7s on with different offsets if you want 18s and just make sure they're going to clear everything

I've got some Advanti Racing CPO35s. They are white 15 inch mags, which are light as hell. I've got Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 tyres on them (damn sticky). They are 195/45R15s, which makes them a little bit smaller in rolling diameter than they should be. They should really be 195/50R15s, but that's how I bought them on tardme.

Here they are:
Image

Because they are small and light, they help my car accelerate when compared to having some big 17s which have more weight further out, eg more rolling inertia. You cetainly notice the difference in weight as themaleman has said.

Depends if you want go or show.... up to you.

OK you're looking for an 18x7, 4x100 PCD(Stud Pattern) and the offset (sometimes called ET)ideally needs to be +38. An offset of +40 will work, but is extremely close to rubbing on the rear struts, if this happens, it can be overcome buy using a slide on spacer. The front will be fine.

215/35/18 is the tyre size that you are wanting

Yeah that's right. I got them off Nick.
They're a bit of an odd tyre size choice, but they're brand new and go great.
I'm pretty stoked with them :D

40 offset wont work , u need a 35 offset and the rim cant be wider than 7 inch otherwise it will rub . 8) there isnt much available in that offset . 8)

You and I are going to argue on this subject everytime it comes up! Like i've said before i've had 40p on 4 AE92's now without spacers, and i've also got 40p on the back of an AE82 GT right now, and it's sitting on the bumps, no issuse with clearance whatsoever.

Guess we'll just have to agree to disagree

All sets have been 7's, you don't often get 17's & 18's narrower than that

Sure thing mate

Image

Enkei RP05's 17x7, i understand you're in the industry, check up if you want, only available in +40

Image
Image

These were called Blades I think, also 17x7. Prior to the 17's i also had the FX on some TSW VX1's, they were 15x7 +40

Image

This is the AE82 at warrent height, it's lower than that most of the time. I could even go as far as taking photos of the castings showing offset on the back of the rim if you really wanted.

Got more photos of my other AE92 somewhere, plus the above GTZ on another 2 different sets of 17's & also 18x7 Enkei RP08

I'm not interested in some sort of dumb internet fight, just sharing my experience with people, & i understand you are doing the same
