Coz I have a gen 3 engine sitting here, I can either

1) Make modification to make the ECU think it's a Gen 2
or
2) Go Gen 3 PowerFC.

Option 1 is my original intention, but option 2 won't hurt neither.

$1k for the ECU and $300 for the commander.

Or you can import one yourself, they're around $1800 for both incl shipping.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

Yep, you could use the TurboXS KnockLite, which seems to be a pretty good knock detection/shiftlight.
