its pretty much 400km from down town wellington to our place in taupo (about 10min north past the race track) so 3.5 hrs would be breaking the law at some point

Only if driving at 3am, most of the time I head north I manage to average 60km/hour for the first 2 hours cos of all the traffic. That would mean I have to average 187km/hour for the rest of the trip to do it in 3.5 hours.

Sorry... edit to that leaving from Whitby which is already 30 mins out of wellington city. So yeah.. 4 hours apprx.

And yes normally our trips up are later in the evening so very little traffic.

Yeah, 3 1/2 hours is probably a little unrealistic. It takes about 3 hours from Palmy driving sedately, so unless you're on a mission from 'nam, I cant see it happening.

Well just before Christmas it blew the head gasket and i had to get the head plained as it warped. So im awaiting the head to come back and then the new setup is going on and getting tuned. But it has to be going by early feb for the drags. So yea...soon. Long time coming tho....coming up on 18months now
