JZ ecu's

Asking this on behalf of a mate.

Car is a JZX90 Mark II. Apparantly it was a factory 2JZGE auto and is now running a 1JZGE and W57, but still using a 2JZ auto ecu and loom.

Are the ecu loom plugs the same? Are we able to swap the 2JZGE auto ecu for a 1JZ ecu? Or do the looms have to be changed?

Cheers Hanré. Will there be any difference running a manual 2JZ ecu instead of an auto one?

You'll need a manual loom to make that work, other than that it shouldn't make a difference.

Wait sorry now that I have woken up and thinking more clearly after that damn humidity last night I realized that I might have spoken too soon.

There is a possibility that the manual ECU will plug straight in to the auto loom. You'd need to compare auto/manual wiring diagrams just to make sure however. You can swap ECUs like that in the Z30 Soarers as the plugs are the same which made me realize that the X90 could possibly be the same.

just fyi, i got all my gear out of a JZX90 auto half cut, and the ecu has the same plugs as the Z30 soarer

yep with turbo gear jzx90 and z30 = same plugs. jzx81 and jza70 = same plugs thats only turbo stuff Ive tried out and all autos so not realy a help :D
