Why bother shipping it over here just to put it on display? its the 2nd fastest GTR now  if its going to be retired whats the point?? take it home and put it in a paddock with some cows :P

Mate I no your dissappointed like the rest of us but I believe HKS has nothing to prove they have owned that record for the last 5 years and it has taken alot to beat them...

I reckon the it should be Heat Treatments vs the Venom Supra or the Rayglass Datto to sought out who is the no.1 import in the land these 3 seem to be the most consistent 7 second cars..

But please not another GTR farce...please...oh please...

<---- I'm with stupid :D

From an engineering point of view, HKS has exceeded heat treatments imo, pump gas, R33 body...... and doing it since 2001.

HKS had the world's first untubbed FWD to break into single digit too. The HKS Drag Celica.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

I took it as meaning some parts were no longer available from Nissan (probably a firewall )
That sucks, I would really have liked to have heard it run. Such is.

Yeah i think that they had a hard think about how fast reece will be, and the price of putting a fresh car togeather for this meet vs making a new car to sell more parts to ameriacans

I think HKS are quite keen to sell parts here too. If people arnt pushing HKS then why was Adam Richards S15 built with a truck load of bloody expensive parts.

From an engineering point of view, HKS has exceeded heat treatments imo, pump gas, R33 body...... and doing it since 2001.

And from a finance point of view?

Pretty disapointing that they arnt going to run. would like to know if they found the problems before putting it into the container, and if so what efforts did they go to to put another car in there to race here, they have plenty lying around there :)

didnt someone raise the question of the technical details of the HKS car would make it very hard to run on a track here???

And if it was so dangerous and unsafe to race...how come they had it in Thailand racing not all that long ago doing low 8's?

If they really wanted it to race, HKS could get it ready. They just can't be bothered anymore.

Stolen from NZhondas

Pandaemonaeon wrote:The condition of the car has nothing to do with it. Stolen from SDU

With authorisation, here are a few bits of info:

The driver (Kawasaki) never retired. He is still their driver.
There is nothing wrong with the car.
The contract was for the car.
Not the driver.
The rules state the vehicle can only be driven by Kawasaki.
HKS USA attempted to get someone else to drive (Andre) because they aided in f'ing it up.
Japan wouldn't let anyone else drive.
USA and others, but none in Japan, are solely responsible for the problems.
You do not lie to the Japanese.
You do not treat them with disrespect.
You do not order them around, when they are the supplier and doing you a favour.

You think I am full of sh!t?

Keep watching.

Same car, same driver, will be racing at international events starting shortly.

Just not in New Zealand.

Messy business. Oh well, maybe if we're lucky Glenn will do a 7 as well - I had no huge hopes in seeing the HKS car crack the 7s considering it only just scratched in when in Oz, usually ran 8s... the fabled 7.67 run at Sendai was not a regular event.

Our market is nothing compaired to the US, and making referance to making a new gen GTR drag car, thats for the americans benifit, ok it will sell stuff here, but i doubt you will see NZ roads cluttered with new GTR's anytime soon

It's close to what I have heard elsewhere. It also seems performance car haven't actually reached any agreement with Glen at all to replace HKS, despite trumpeting that they have; which provides another clue to the depth of their event management skillz :D.

Pretty close I think ;). And as Brad has said the car was running in Thailand very recently; there is no way it would not have had a substantial overhaul before that (and again I am told it did) so to say it's now suddenly broken beyond repair just doesn't stack up.
