Subaru WAIC radiator measurements

Postby Barks » Sun Feb 11, 2007 11:18 am

Does anyone on here run one of the subie WAIC radiators on their cars? I'm needing to fit something smaller to my car and I was wondering how big these things are. If somebody has one (even just lying around) and could run a tape across it I'd be very appreciative.

is it very efficient? Worth running one over a small front mount?

It should be more efficient than a air to air. I was going to run a air to air front mount but didnt want long intercooler pipes, so went for the water to air set up, in my case it was worth it over an air to air.

I'll try and make a few notes and take a few pictures here and there, let people know how I got on.

One of the big advantages the WAIC looks like having over the FMIC is a VERY short intake path, at least half of what I'd have with a front mount, which should reduce lag. That, and on an AE92 Trueno it's way easier to find a place to route two 25mm water lines out to the front bumper than it is to try and route two 2 1/2 or 3" intercooler pipes.

Just spied your project thread so that added a bit more food for thought 8) but if you have additional pics or comments about what to watch out for or what might be an issue it would be highly helpful.

Would be good if you could add to your project thread & I'll just watch that space.

Cheers
