3sgte bearings

i beleve my engine bearings are on the way out has i am getting the "death rattel" so i want to do a rebuild i have been told 3sgte are good for runing bearings so i want to no what i should do to stop this from happing again?
also i am told gen3 have foged pistions is it worth putting them in while im at it or getting after market ones?

Hey, if your getting the death rattle, probably best you just look at a low kms replacement engine, reason being.......

Dunno if the 3sGTE is any better , but a replacement crank from toyota for a 3sGE is about $3000 at trade price. Thats a first gen tho. So if your crank is rooted, youll be looking at a new engine. A replacement 3sGTE gen 2 is about $2200, or so i was quoted last week from dodsons.


Anyway. just my 2 cents.

Check prices with Warwick I think you can get a complete short block for close to that amount you stated for just crank.

yea, came to about $3000 all up from Warwick.
2011 Ford Mondeo tdci.

Hey, at least it sounds like a 3s.
