if a cressida has a 5M-GE in it and i was just wondering does this mean a 7M-GE/GTE will bolt in onto standard Xmember and mounts?

And add to that the 5M oil pump/oil pickup, or modify the 7M's oil pickup. Then, you'll need to consider the oil dipstick - the 7M unit is set up for the "mid sump" arrangement, but you will be using a "front sump" from the 5M. When I did this swap, I had a 90 degree bend welded to the passenger side of the sump (below the oil level and made a new dipstick tube to suit.

Be aware that 7Ms are prone to bearing failure if you get low on oil. I made my setup with a little extra so that "LOW" was the normal mid point.
