Aircon Part 2

Postby solitaire » Thu Feb 15, 2007 10:22 am

Hey, Ive Got a Aircon Pump off a guy on here and another one hopefully coming (just in case).

So im about to put it back on the small port but noticed some black oily grit in the ports that the gas flows through the pump through. I dont really want to blow compressed in there because im worried it will blow into the pump...

Do i need to worry about it? I could spray some crc in, with the right angle im pretty sure i can get about 95% out and end up blowing the rest into the pump....

theres oil in the pump drain it out and measure how much and check its colour, if theres alloy filings its junk. the grey /black sludge is the teflon coating that come off the internals of the compressor, they still work without it but wont last forever. when you get it regassed tell them how much oil came out so the can put more in and change the drier at the same time, oh and put new o-rings on too.
