Im guessing you have already done the work? it can pay to approach a certer before you begin and have a talk...but anyway:

Try calling either of these.

Don hoff's fair with his inspection, really depends where is best for you to travel to get from your place to the cert place travelwise. I used don in the past and can recommend him

ok. (6 years ago) i failed a WOF in my VR4 cause it was too low. They recommended i take it to Don Hoff for cert.

i went in and asked him if he would cert it, as it sat under 100mm high. he said it would be $320 and he'd need it for the day.

I lived in Ashburton then, so i bought it up to Chch, dropped it off and paid him. Picked it up in the afternoon and he said "i cant certify that, its under 100mm. raise it and bring it back and ill cert it". I asked for my money back for the reason that i did ask him about the height issue before i gave him the car, but he refused to give me a refund.

Whats the point in certing a car if its over 100mm high? He charged me $320 to tell me something we both knew already.

He was arrogant and i believe he treated me unfairly because i had a "boy racer type car" and a blonde slutty girlfriend  . I wrote to him and explained my case, but i got no reply. I wouldnt recommend Don Hoff for that reason.

I guess like everything people will always have good and bad experiences with places, specially with things like cert & wofs, so its good to hear what people have to say :)

I can recommend Don Hoff as well.

Have had 3 of my own cars cert'd with him now. And its where I recommend my customers to go.

I've been in with some friggen bogan cars with guards full of rubber and he was pretty lol about it. A good part of his business is 'boy racer' cars.
