S series & C series bell housings

Postby strx7 » Mon Feb 19, 2007 8:01 am

Can someone CONFIRM that S series and C Series have the SAME bell housing engine pattern, or are they a 'Close enough' fit and you need to slot some holes and re-drill some others???????

Cheers

Are you talking about W series gearbox bellhousings?
S motor to W gearbox is the same as C diesel motor to W gearbox.
I have had several of both and compared them.
I am using a C bellhousing on my 3sge and W57 in my carina.

What are your plans? I can give some big hints on how to set up 3sge for rwd.... And how to make the clutch work. Let me know.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I have a custy wanting a W series S series bell housing to make their 4wd off road toy 3SGE powered using a hilux 4wd box, I brought a 2C liteace gearbox in from a supplier and the bolt pattern for the motor isn't 100% its, well to be honest about 30% of what i'd expect when you put a 3SGE sandwich plate over it. Do i conclude that the bell housing they have supplied is the wrong one? or do 1C and 2C have different bolt patterns, or am I missing something else?

I'm pretty sure the bellhousing I use is off a 2C.
What side is the starter on the bellhousing? Should be on the left... If it is on the right it could be a Y motor bellhousing. If it is a Y, 3 of the 4 main bolts will be perfect and the 4th (one of the top ones) will be about 8mm out.
I will find a pic for you.
