Is it silvertop or blacktop?

Postby TRD_ZERO » Thu Feb 22, 2007 7:06 pm

Im after a set of blacktop throttle bodies and before anyone says just measure yours, i have to tell you i cant find the time. Im flat out busy over the last few days and was hoping someone could shed some light and help me out. SO can anyone tell me are these silvertop ones or blacktop? I know silvertop ones are 45mm and blacktop ones are 50mm but they stay these are 47.5mm so thats dead in between.

I was under the impression that ST ones were 45mm and BT were 47mm. I'm sure someone will confirm if I'm wrong or not :)

ST are 43mm at the butterfly
BT are 45mm at the butterfly.

Those appear to be ST facelift. The port face is considerably different between ST and BT. Likewise the BT TB's will bolt up to the ST manifold, but the faces are radically different so it will be staggered.
Its easiest to keep BT TB's with BT head. and ST TB's with ST head.
The answer is Helmholtz!
