I have to profess that i don't know anything about what the different rings and surclip looking things up the gearstick are supposed to do/look like, so bear with me if my description is a bit tedious. The gearbox is a k50 in my ae85.
Sometimes when i am driving, if i don't push down into the gbox while im changing gear, the gearstick pops out of its socket thing in the box.
I recently replaced the bushing thing that the stick sits on (that deteriorates and makes shifting sloppy), and when i did it the rubber cover that goes from the top of the box and covers all the washers and stuff on the stick split. I have also noticed that the metal plate on the top of the box that the stick goes through gets quite loose.
The two things i just listed are my guess at why it pops out. I also need to replace the stick because the little knob thing on the end of the ball has broken and the movement between gears is rediculous (I'm talking a throw distance of 30-40cm).
Will replacing the stick and the rubber thing fix the problem? (And does anyone have one they wanna sell me?)
Edit: Are sticks interchangable between boxes?
