ae93_sx wrote:I took the whole bracket that holds the tensioner pulley off. This is a bitch of a job because you need to remove the aircon, alternator and PS pump to get the bracket off. Took maybe an hour or so.

How the hell did get it off in an hour?
I've been trying for ages now.

I've found 6 bolts/nuts holding the bracket on adn I can get the bottom to move a bit. Can anyone confirm that there is 8 bolts/nuts holding the bracket?

its quite easily a 2hour job with lots of stuffing around, i cant confirm but as i previoulsy said i think theres 8.

4 are nut/studs and 4 are bolts.

they are geometrically postioned so not in random places if you catch my drift,

98% on there being 8 bolt/nuts however

Woohoo I got it off, was missing one bolt right near the exhaust manifold.
I then smashed a socket to the offending nut and got it off.

Now does anyone know what sizes the belts are (factory crank pulley)?

The local repco guy told me theres a couple variants (I told him ae101 4a gze), now I know there are only 3 belts yet he listed:

S\C belt : 5pk0940 OR 5pk0840
Waterpump : 5pk0990 (how can the waterpuump belt be different to the SC one?)
P/S : 3pk0635 (I'm sure its supposed to be a 4pk)
Aircon : 4pk0875 OR 5pk0965

I know I can take my belts in and match them up (which I probably will now), but I can't do that to the AC one because I cut it off (tensioner was $&#$%).

Will it be the 5pk or the 4pk?

have a look at the pulley, and count the teeth, 4 pk or 5 pk reffers to the amount of "grooves" on the pulley/belt. Ethier 4 or 5 ridges.

Just measure your cut belt and count the groves, being cut just makes it easier

*pk is your groves then **** is your length

so 4pk0875 is 4 groves and 875mm long

Should I just cut all my belts and measure them then?
They're not going to be of any use anyway.

How much should I minus from the measurement to account for the new belt stretching?

You should just be able to match them to the sizes they have listed, Just take the non cut ones in and they can compare them to what they have.

You can measure the cut one, or just count the ribs, it should be the 4 or 5 one, and just get the one they have listed.
