rev meters on autos?

why do automatic cars have a rev meter? alot of standard autos come with rev meters, just interested what its used for?

if someone wanted to change at a certain rev point they still could I guess, in theory :)

i like the people who get monster tach's with the shift light on automatic skylines etc
chicken fillet and bacon with everything except onion and bbq, ranch and southwest sauces

I seriously hate huge tachs, even on manual cars. Absolutely nothing wrong with the one installed in the car on the production line - same deal for shift lights, ears are there for a reason. 8)

iv sed it before & il say it again

any one that needs a light to tell them when to change gear shouldent be given a linence come on you will know

lights & big rev counters are just wor wank value
The faster you go the quicker you get there

But without a shift light, HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHEN TO CHANGE GEARS :roll:

What they need is a 'downshift' light so you know when to change down!
