its all relative...
fords/holdens whats the btter one...all depends on what year/years your comparing...if your talking pre 2002 id deffiantely say Holdens...but with the new range of fords out, in particular the new XR6 Turbo...id go for the fords...and the new Utes they have r pretty impressive. My mate has a XR6 Turbo, and it flys. The interior is also very nice, and the workmanship quality is up there with the BMWs Audis etc. Personally im a euro man....but the quality of fords now is very high, well they had to improve quality/performance just to keep some market share.

gotta go with the fords. good on em for going turbo. The new gtho they're planning on releasing looks like it'll leave holden for dead too. Also, holdens a bit offputting since they've had to recall so many with the gen 3 v8s cos of piston slap and oil consumption problems (so much for reliability).

Ford has history. All of these models have international recognition as being a FORD:

Model T
GT40
Escort RS200
Mustang (all generations)
RS200 (GpB)
Sierra Cosworth RS500

Ford has visions in realising future developments, and as such bought out among 2 of the worlds most evolving brands
Volvo - world renound for safety
Mazda - should be world renowned as the rebel of the motoring world, and the only company who is still making a mass produced version of the rotary engine - something other companies are completely ignoring, yet it does have many advantages over piston engines

Now, over to Holden. Oh thats right, they were bought out by GM. Pontiac, Opel, Vauxhall, Holden, same cars, different brands - GM can't even make up their minds what to call their own brand, let alone try and be creative in their engine building - at least Ford have the guts to say that they can't build a performance engine, and get Cosworth or Tickford to build one for them. Remember the Pontiac Le Mans, thats right, the Open Cadet ... Now the Monaro is rebadged in USA as a Pontiac!!!
Don't tell anyone, but I bought a Corolla so I could beat some Hondas on TvH days :P

i think there both ghey, i agree with CaM, there adding technology thats years old, also the cc to horsepower rating is not the best, ferrari 3 litre v8 has a hell of alot more horsepower than a 5.7 litre v8 holden, then again, they shouldn't really be compared.

new holdens and fords may as well be the same, they are both pathetic.
even the earlier models are just a ripoff of each others cars. although holden did a nice job on the hq gts and the a9x/a34 torana. otherwise they all poos.
