20v detonation

this morning i put my foot down when taking off at an intersection.
black smoke all the way through 1st, 2nd and third.

that didnt worry me so much, the detonation i could hear while this was happening did.

i run it on 95, is that likely to be the problem?

going to chuck some new plugs in there this weekend.

silvertop 20v in an ae92 fxgt.

any other suggestions?

whats the static timming set as?
dono but I run stupid amounts of advance on my blacktop an it gives no trouble on 95.

when we got it running at the beginning of last year, we checked the timing and it was still same as stock figures (cant remember off the top of my head)

might go get it timed up again.
there was so much black smoke haha
