I to have been down the bank on this piece of road except mine was a mid-night excursion not really the best.I'm sure the bumps in the middle of some of those corners change every year.Good to hear youy did'nt damage yourself to badly there Jamie how badly was the car damaged???

Bl00dy hell Coryn, you went down the same bank in the RZ?

Christ sounds like a real shlt of a place but I guess some people enjoy the challenge :)

Prob ideal place to race an Evo or STi despite what happened to that rapid WRX wagon........respect to you guys who race that road competitively 8)

Bit like "NZ Touge"

Its the best little stretch of road I have ever driven on...

I have been doing the Mnt Vic Hill climb for years so it was my time i spose...

It is way more challenging than any race track, I love it!

Should be back for next years event :)

Looking at the pics of your car mate you were very lucky you didnt roll her.

Wouldnt you count this as your lucky break? Hill climbs are challenging yes but I think "disposable" cars are more suited to them - not nice street/track cars such as yours.

But hey its an individuals choice on what car to use and how hard to push it and thats good from a spectating point of view, afterall we like seeing nice cars race..........not old shltters

Best of luck with repairs STI8U, im a closet STi fan and have been for years. Really got my eye on owning one as a second car in the near future :)

The reason I don't do this event and Shelly Bay is I feel its to dangerous in my car and really if you do get it wrong it gets real ugly and also it scares the shit out of me.Andy when your down here I'll take you for a blat around these two roads where they take place. You'll see at best these roads at speed are the equivalent of sealed goat tracks.Especially Alexander Rd with its over hanging trees and drop offs the bank on the Hataitai side in places is quite a big drop as Sti8u can atest to.But its definitely not for me..

Thanks :) People keep telling me I was lucky... Im still pissed I let it get so wrong. ha ha

Looks like the car is going to get packaged up and shipped to the States, and Transplanted into a new Left hand drive shell...

Still working out the final details with the possible new owner...

And yes the banks are a pain ;) But that is what makes it such a buzz.

It will be a shame to not see you car in action here in NZ again. Jamie. But it sounds like it's going to someone who will have a lot of fun with it. :D
