What's the legal requirements here?
My 'good' set of doors for the Carina dont have side mirrors on, and my 'good' set of front guards dont have the fender mirrors. (which I dont want anyway)
So, can I legally drive the car (theoretically, if I ever finish it ) with just the central rear view mirror?
According to the LTSA website:
How many mirrors do I need?
The law says that:
new passenger cars must have two rear-view mirrors (one outside, on the right-hand side, and an inside rear-view mirror)
new light goods vehicles must have an outside right-hand side rear-view mirror and either an inside rear-view mirror or an outside left-hand side rear-view mirror
new mopeds and motorcycles must have one rear-view mirror
all other motor vehicles (except pedal cycles) not covered above need to have at least one rear-view mirror.
Now, what exactly do they mean by new passenger cars? Does that mean that old cars are fine with just the central rear mirror?
