Thats a pretty big call...your average DA6/DC2 doesnt handle any better than an AE101/111, let alone MR2's.
If such a trackday were to occur, I'd be more willing to put money on competent drivers in various MR2's to clean up ;)

1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

Once you get a really fast car, you don't need to prove anything because you know you car is way faster and race will have no point.
And people who race from lights are wannabes trying to prove something.
Even if you drive a 20v but have something real fast in the garage you lose all interest in road racing.
People who race from lights have a "small dick" complex.

good point sergei. seeing as you lose your license for 40km over now, most people with decently fast cars have learnt to restrain themselves, as they can nowhere near exploit their cars abilities
even over 400m , you arent seeing the really juicy top end of most cars.

most of the people you see trying to race on the roads are, as you say, afflicted with a small package complex.

yeah, but we're all an a different class. last time i think there was a only one or two hondas in the same class?

the problem with the honda/toyota drags isn't who's cars are faster, it's the fact that the hondas have a lot more cars in the more common class, the 1600 and 1800 n/a, and of course thats where they beat us, sure we win the 2000+n/a and the turbo classes, but there's not enough cars in those classes to make up the wins to win the day.

Funny how in a short amount of posts it went from a honda vs toyota to a 20v vs (not 20v) debate, lol.

This is exactly how a conversation I had with my flatmate went today. If you want to be sterile competition like - don't let any of the 20vs/general NA cars show up.... wins aren't counted if they are make vs. make of a particular class ;)

Lol. "Honda" is a pretty broad statement. A 500hp Supra would be considerably faster than a "Honda", but the majority of turbocharged Hondas these days are running pretty damn good times, low 11s aren't unheard of.. and I'm sure theres' a couple of turbo'd Hondas in the 10s. So, let apples be compared with apples.. :)

Bruces Honda turbo ran a 10 down here... he is in aussie now though.

This whole debate over Honda or Toyota being "faster" etc is really really stupid. I say a lot of stupid things, so I feel qualified to say that. The facts are VERY VERY few guys ACTUALLY racing dont give a shit about beating a certain brand of car. If you have a look at say the endurance race at Ruapuna tomorrow, you will see BMW's with RB26, a Altezza with a 2JZ, an Altezza with a supercharged 1UZ, a couple of ITR DC5's, a Levin AE101 with a 2JZ, an awesome GT3 (I am biased on that one :)), probably an RX7 with a V8, etc etc the point is, most race cars out there dont resemble what they came out of the factory with, and making any kind of comparison is a bit difficult. The facts are, pound for pound the NZ hondas are faster, they make more power all else being equal they will be faster. Basically you can make any car go pretty fast, so lets just accept all cars are cool when they are fast cars. Personally if i wanted a FWD race car again, I would not buy the 20v I did, I would go for the Civic. Its about 2-3k worth of engine work more powerful than the black top stock. When I wanted a fast RWD car, I went with the Supra over the say S2000...

Well you are making more power than he did... so you should take him down if your weight is <= to his. He ran his 10.9 down here before he left for Stone Brothers Racing.
