Well I cant imagine 2 new racetracks been built within 4kms of each other..HD is only 2kms from meremere...

Yeah I just cant imagine someone not knowing about it... Its the biggest motorsport venue news in a long time.

You dont need to be obsessed to know a new race track is being built its been on the news and in the papers and on the internet frequently for many months now.

There was talk of a new track going out by Paremoremo, quite close to the prision... would only be 20mins from the CBD if that was the case...

Wsn't ment to be anything special, well you wouldnt hold an A1GP meet there for sure... but may be something to keep the old ears out for...

Construction has finally started - think might be 2 months into the HD track alreadt.

Ross Reid have the contract i think.

HD is old news surely that can be the only new race facility going up in the Auckland area it would be a bit of worry really if there were 2 motorsport facilities going up as have'nt you Aucklanders being crying out for roading for the last 20 years..

Roading and race tracks are two completely different things, race tracks you will find are privately funded, and as you pay for gas and such, you pay for roading...

Should be good when hampton downs is finished,
But Auckland definately needs another track, even if it was something smaller with plenty of corners, pukekohe is rather boring

i defantly heard differnt figures on costs, but $120 seems alot more realistic i had a nosey the other day, just looks like a boggy mud feild.

been keeping an ear out on HD for a while now, so can't wait for it to be finished. two awesome tracks within two hours of hamilton, can't complain!! (i mean HD and taupo, puke don't count...)
