Daytime lights wiring

Postby MasCam » Mon Apr 02, 2007 11:14 pm

I have just ordered a set of LED lights to put on my car as daytime running lights.

What I am wanting is for ideas of something nice and close to the front of the car to wire them into. I am going to have them on whenever the engine is running (or the ignition is in the on position) and the total load is only going to be 4W so I thught that I might just try to sneak them on to a feed for something else rather than wire them up completely seperate

Any Ideas :?: :?:

Wire them up seperately, it's not that much extra work

I think you underestimate my lazziness

And I would still have to find something to wire the control feed for a relay into.

Thats why I was wanting to sneak it onto something else as it is only 4W

Any more constructive answers??

EFI or fuel pump relay (unless thats inside on you car) or the power feed on the air con relay

not power feed not switched side
The faster you go the quicker you get there

Or I might not as I have looked up the regulations on such lights before I ever embarked on the project.

I will concede that It does state that daytime running lights must be switched off when the headlights come on but I will see if the warrent people know this one and if they do I will just wire in a relay to do just that.

I am pretty sure that the regulation is in place as most previous daytime running lights are about 50w incandesent and not the 2w led's that is am using (they are actually listed as an interior lamp but are exactly the same as the exterior ones only white instead of amber, red or blue) I don't realy think that they are going to blind anyone with the glare.
