No just my yellow bucket of bolts , it's probably the newest ae in the country, just ask Revhead he's added to my visa bills!!!
The Runx was only 20 odd about the same cost as my next 4ag!

Yep, its like they say, if you want to make a small fortune from motorsport, you first need to start off with a large one :)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Really? In New Zealand? i've never seen one.

Guy who owns Soundway (car audio install shop) in Dunedin has an auto AE86 not sure if its a genuine but sure looks like it

This makes me all moist with excitement. If they did make a new RWD corolla, damn that would be hot HOT sex on wheels. haha

But honestly if they remade a AE86 that was made with a monocot alluminium chassi... With real suspension instead of a solid rear axle and stub axle fronts.... Only i can dream.

New ae86 would turn out like Chryslers PT Cruiser. They tried to make it out like a new version hotrod. Fail!

Although it may not be 'cool', I'd say that the MX5 *IS* the modern equivilent of the AE86.

Light weight, rear wheel drive, not all that powerful, but with improvements like IRS and a few other goodies.

It just goes to show how much people can be swayed by 'image', as they'd rather not be seen in a car like an MX5, despite that it's probably the closest thing to a new AE86 that will ever see the roads.

Would have been interesting to see what the situation would be like if MX5's were the main car in Initial D instead of the 86's ;)

MX-5's actually hold their value quite well.
Lady at my work sold her 1990 MX-5 last year for about $10,000. And it was auto and not exactly the best condition.
I was actually shocked when she told me how much she was listing it for and laughed at her. Then she told me that they usually fetch that much. She sold it pretty quick too.

Either you're confused about some of the details, or she was very very lucky.

Hey Toyota still sells the 70 series land cruiser that was designed in the 80’s, pretty sure that has no airbags!

Bring on a modernized AE-86!
