2wd hilux engine options
I'm looking at removing the horrible diesel engine in my 85 hilux and replacing it with a petrol one. However I dont want to go overboard on performance, just something that makes a bit of noise without the huge fuel bill. Any help appreciated.

i wouldn't call 28mpg all that thirsty in a 1950kg Surf............. 2JZGE it.

lol just as thirsty.
For economy, fit a standard 2.2 camry motor, 5SFE??
Go great and use bugger all fuel,
In the $per KM stakes, used way less than my 2.8l diesil hiace even.

i'm sure even a 1L engine would struggle to match that, whats your secret?
You realise that a smaller CC car is not more economical all the time.
Juts means that you have to put your foot down further and use even more gas than a bigger cc car to get the same result.

Yeah I understand that concept. I'm just baffled as to how he gets 18km/L in his car. I would have thought if you nana'd a 1000cc engine you'd still be lucky to see that kind of economy
1450rpm & less then 1/4 throttle the hole way to christchurch while doing 115-120kmph all flat running after the killmog i havent done any other trips but id hope there about the same but wouldent count on it

Just got my LN130 Surf all done , thanks to Mr.Harisson! 2JZGE power...
is mad!! seems to be pretty cheap to run too!, but I can't keep my foot off the trottle! LOL Is scary when you can got over 100km/h at 2nd gear! And with massive body lift feel scary around corners
Still got the 4x4... Well worth the wait and cost!
