Do you mean stay Saturday only? And only stay Friday if there's a good group. Superlap is on Sunday.

Yeah. I'm much the same. I would only head down on Friday (staying friday night) if there's enough people/good people going down...

Postby NZPC SUPER LAP » Tue Apr 10, 2007 2:16 pm

Hi guys – just to reiterate,

Just a few weeks to go now until the first NZPC Super Lap event at Taupo Motorsport Park.

Competitor spots are filling up quickly with a really good variety of cars, from basic streetcars, to some full-house racers (including Grant Hohaia's wild 3SGTE AE85!) So as long as it’s an import and street legal, it doesn’t matter what you run!

It’s only $80 to take part, which as a lot of you will no is cheaper than a regular open day at the track! It's all an awesome opportunity to get to grips with your car with a bunch of like-minded people! There are plenty of newbies taking to the track too, so don't be put-off by the race cars.

Spectators are very welcome, and $10 will get you through the gate. Taupo Motorsport Park also charge $5 per car for parking at the facility, but it’s all nice and close to the pit area.

If you’re got any questions post them up and we’ll endeavour to answer them for you, otherwise check out the thread on the NZPC forum at http://forums.performancecar.co.nz/phpB ... hp?t=51027 for more info.

Cheers.

I know Grant well, and yes his car is wild, but he finds taupo track hard to drive so don't talk him up. I belive he is turning up for the fun day.

ACCOMMODATION

I am renting a bach in Taupo for Saturday night (28th). The bach is a fully furnished house. So has everything you need including "off street parking". By that I mean, it's off the street, but you can see all the way to the end of the drive from the street....

$30 a person for the night. I can arrange to have it for two nights if there's a decent enough crowd. If there are a few people it'll be even cheaper.

There's plenty of beds (I think around 8 beds including two doubles).

Full kitchen. Fridge. I think we're allowed to use the BBQ. TV. DVD. A/C in main room. Plenty of lawn for tents. It's about a 10 minute walk to town (it's just across the river). Two bathrooms.
You would need to bring all of your own toiletries (towel, soap, shampoo etc).

If you're interested PM me.

I just heard a friend of mine Scott Kreyl won the NZPC Superlap by the length of the street apparently he was entered in the private class but cleaned up everybody including the pro class with a winning time of 1.12. something but the next closest was 2 seconds away.He was running his well developed Evo 8.Was anyone else there that saw this event????

Extremely Big Ups to him as I no he has put alot of time effort and $$$ into this car and to win an event like this is a real good effort...

I heard Scotty gave some GT3 driver a go and they did the same time which is quite interesting as I believe that was Scotty's first or second time on the new short track...
