chipped crank pulley

i have a chip on the outer edge of my crank pulley, 4efe motor.

will this chew through belts? its quite a chip and goes down to the teeth and is sharp.

if i say file this smooth would that be ok?[/u]

I should be fine. If it's sharp you could smooth it slightly so nobody cuts them selves on it . I've seen quite a few chipped crank pulleys with no detriment to the belts.
