aw11 for FTW
some people can drive them some people cant get used to them

for me a FR car feels unresponsive and laggy to drive
where as my(i say my not all) aw feels nimble and can change lines at a moments notice without to miuch trouble

as for cheap upgrade... 3sgte out of a sw20 anyone
250 hp in a sub 1 ton package with more launch than a 4wd has a instant smile factor

nothing quite like the look you get from some guy in a riced up evo as you pass him sideways on a roundabout(done on a private road ) lol

Hah. I don't think as many people have the fabrication tallents of you and Malcolm to fit a 3SGTE in there though!

Yes, but is the AW still under a tonne when you've got a much heavier engine + gearbox?

Malcolms 3SGTE AW11 was 1100kgs or so when put on the scales...

Not that it matters, it would still be badass. :D

Both std too. was quite suprised would have though the FR layout would have been better

crapest post ever. so vague. firstly EP82, turbo or not? track? same driver? driver experience with each car? same conditions?

so many variables, such BS.

Au bei, u c tht ae82 smoke tht TT leagcy? woulda fout teh 4WD woulda been beta

can't belive I even took the time to write that out, $&#$% I must be bored

Still it was truly convicing, im going to go sell my cars and buy a fleet of EP82s and pwn ae86s @ the track.

OMG settle down chump.
Btw this was around tskuba curcuit in 1992 with keichi tsuichia driving the ae86 both stock.

i didnt even watch it.

note:
1: jap youtube vids are not accurate ways to determine a cars performance

2: drivers make a huge difference, there are ppl out there that when driving a veyron, i could beat in a stock kp60.

3: there are rules about how you conduct yourself on this forum. specificly manners when addressing other users.

But that was a best motoring vid.

Cool to watch? yes

But ever noticed how the newest car always wins, its just a marketing ploy.
Like the one with the 350z, on best motoring it spanked the evos, sti's, GTR's It all BS.

plenty of better drivers than him in the world...hell even in nz
if he was that good ...hed be in somethign fast...like a formular one car

did you not think it was funny that teh car fatser than teh straight line in the 1/4 mile got left behing by him on the dragrace to the first corner

why do people think that the japanse are teh best in teh world at motorsports ?
they have teh best drifters.......
well ive watched some american drifting and dam there good too
they have the best race car drivers...
thats why a japanese fulla has never won a formular 1 race...or almost any event that is international

there cars make teh most h/p...
well no not even close

not a rant or even a grumpy thought
just a relistic aproch to a cult culture problem we have here in nz

if japan was so great why do we have so many of them here :d

+1 to poo pooing best motoring videos.

I LOL and cringe, every time that the guy at the back of the pack in the most powerful car, forgets to put the car in gear or something at the start..... Seeing as how they're all professional race drivers doing the filming etc.

Basically they make the results fit the point that they want to get across.

sucks when realiy meet dream world and cartoon
seldom do the 2 mix

as for the pole.......
did they win ?

hes a good drivr no doubt but hes far fromt he best....though agian it ilistrates the point of that clip
put a good driver and a good car and get a good result
put a crap driver ina a good car and get a crap result

racing says less about the cars and more about the driver.....

They didn't get first, but my point is that he obviously knows what he's doing when it comes to racing.

As for the AE86 vs EP82 video, Tsukuba has a really long straight before the last corner, into a medium straight going through the start, and most of the corners aren't very tight.
The EP being a turbo, you can actually see where it gains ground on the straight. Striaght lines aren't a way of testing a cars handling abilities.
