What is Toyspeed to you??

Postby Mr.Phreak » Sat Apr 14, 2007 7:13 pm

Just something that's come up in conversation with a few of the older members around, and possibly reflected in things like the Megameets, Car shows and local events.

And I'm not talking about an Incorporated club as that arguement's been done to death already.

I'm a new member but I'm keen to do some club-type stuff.

It used to be a club, a good one at that. People were always going out to meet other people, cruises almost every weekend and a whole lot of other things happening.

Interest over the years has died down and it's now mostly only a forum.

I guess it depends where you are.

We're doing a lot in Palmy, we have good weekly turnouts, we have our wee karting league going and we've been getting out on a decent cruise relatively frequently.

To me it is a club, because of this 8)

Yeah, mainly cause we have a few dedicated people who get off their asses and organise stuff (Big ups Clint and Simon) and people respond to that.

over the past few years its turned to crap IMO. hence why i hardly post/take part anymore. It used to be damned good when (for a brief moment) we had monthly events in welly. like grasskhanas and big ol cruises etc...

but i guess people have moved on to bigger and better things. to me, its just a forum now. Used to be more of a club/dating service. but meh. that time seems tto have gone now.

need babel fish to understand most of whats goes on there.....

a lot of TS "members" seem to suffer from extreme apathy, and a lot of the others are permantly broke.

then theres the ppl who are extrememly enthusiastic about toyotas etc but dont want to socialize with who they percive are boy racer wannabes.

things are underway to change that. starting with more extreme moderation od idiots :D

Over the years, ive lost interest, to the point where I dont really give a $&#$%. Went to an auckland meet once, 3 people went on a cruise. $&#$% gay, havnt read anything of interest here for a long time, let alone seen anything out of the ordinary, just usual AE101, GT4's and Caldina

So yeh, pretty much Oldschool FTW, Good c!unts, think outside the box do things a little differently, only a small bunch of people that fit that bill on Toyspeed, and a couple of them got banned.

riiiiight....

topic ppl.... stick to it.
personal attacks breach TS rules and you will be suspended if kept up.

only a small bunch of people that fit that bill on Toyspeed, and a couple of them got banned.

who are they? ppl only get banned for a reason.

TS is what you make of it, if you want events to happen, support them! make them happen!

heh, I used to organize allot of cruises and things and so did Cliff and also used to have a couple of days every now and then where the Auckland and Hamilton crew met up and had a fun day out. I'd say about 12-18months ago people just stopped turning up or showing any interest so we don't make the effort anymore...

Why go through all the effort of organizing cruises/meet ups/events when no one other than the normal 5 people always turn up.
