Put foot on clutch and then into 1st, rev the motor to all buggery and then drop the clutch, then go back and inspect whether or not you left one or 2 marks behind

:P I was about to say the same thing lol

put one wheel on grass and one wheel on concrete, do what fst4rd says, if theres 2 marks then you most likely have a lsd...

my build plate states i have an open dif, various tyre marks say otherwise  fst4rd may know the history of my gearbox better than me

A. this ought to be in tech and B. search, it has been covered.

Dropping the clutch on tarmac in an SW20 can leave two black lines even with an open diff, I know mine did. One wheel on grass will spin though

The gearbox in my old mr2 now MR2SIK's MR2 is awesome!!!! I used to have some real fun with the LSD in it, but after some of the stuff found in the car (various computers, suspention, gearbox) i wouldn't be surprised if someone in japan has had it as a street/track racer.....

well i did do a search but couldn;t find nething...

clutch is a bit buggered so can;t leave nice tyre marks on the tarmac...til i get a new one neway ;)

i do know it does mean as donuts on gravel lol...i guess doing it on gravel would leave one if open 2 if lsd?

also, did sw20 have adjustable damper rates on the suspention from factory?

gravel is a different kettle of fish as theres not much force to stop both spinning if yours is in fact open.

do as said above, pull half off the road somewhere, you don't have to rev it too much, but if you let the clutch out fast enough you shouldn't move if its open diff as the wheel on the grass should spin freely whereas the wheel on the road shouldn't. if it takes off tho, then it could be LSD or you need to rev it more and retry

All SW20 turbos produced after 12/91 (Chassis # >= 059266) came out standard with LSD.
