4AGE Quad Intake Questions

Postby V8Pete » Wed Apr 11, 2007 9:24 pm

Howdy,

I've got a few questions about this flash new blacktop throttle body gear I've bought.

1.
The big vacuum lines on the manifold at cylinder 1 and 4, is one for brake booster, and one for MAP sensor?

2.
The thin hole on the air side of the throttle body - is it to let a little bit of air through at idle/over run? What's the screw that seems to go into line for?

3.
The other thin hole on the manifold side - one seems to be the vacuum feed for the fuel pressure regulator, the other goes to to some thing I've never seen before like a throttle backstop. What exactly is it, and what's it for? Also, what are those two plastic things on that line?

4.
Is that thing beside the thing in 3 a 'fifth' injector? If so, when is it used, and where should the hose that doesn't go to the head end of the manifold go?

5.
What does the vacuum line that picks up off each port feed, and what's the white plastic thing on the line?

6.
I have 3 hoses coming off the crankcase breather manifold thing flailing in the breeze - where should each of them go?

7.
Lastly, what are the two small hose spigots on the trumpet shroud thing for?

Any clarification would be appreciated, thanks.

Just what comes to mind with out going and having a look....

1. Both are prolly brake booster, 20v run 2 feeds that T into one for the booster
2. air bypass for idle all screws have to be set equal?
3. fpr is on top side of no1 tb (only feeds off one tb)
4. they only use 4 injectors, charcoal canister valve?
5. map sensor feed, plastic thing is like a one way valve
6. Idle up solinoid is the large one, a/c idle up
7. the large one is were the idle up draws air from, smaller one is air draw for a/c idle up

3. Is a dashpot - it stops the throttle from shutting suddenly. Plastic things are 1 way valves and restrictors.

Oh, and does the hose by itself up the top go to the PCV valve?

Another one, do the brake vacuum lines just T and go straight into the booster? Is there any separate collector or anything?
