I don't know if any of the experienced guys will remember the feeling but when I lifted the crank out of my blacktop I was sooo happy I had to take a pic(yeah, I'm a bit mechanically retarded)

Wasn't as bad as I thought to get the crank pulley off (the cambelt drive gear was a little different though... $&#$%), just used a piece of wood, an extension and a big hammer :D

I know it's not that exciting to anyone else but I've had the engine sitting there for 8 months

Yes it is very rewarding to see bits of engine that you have only heard about and then pull them out. Good on you.
As far as me bashing a crank - Hah - that was hell funny - trying to bash/break off a very stuck cambelt pulley off a crank Wayne was throwing away... what did we use??? Another stuffed crank!!
Basically we dropped one crank end on onto the one with the stuck cam pulley about 50 times. Managed to spit the oilpump and rotor off but the cam pulley stayed stuck tight. Good fun though.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I'm not a total noob Ken  Have done a few bearing changes and stuff, was more excited that I had got off my butt and done something that I was apprehensive about and it had worked.

Anyway, now to get it fixeded.
