Half cage.

Also, I suspect it's way too modified to run in Production Racing. Production racing is as it sounds, for "relatively" unmodified production cars.

I dunno. The NA supra was the only privateer toyota faster than me that I'm aware of... If he's on here he needs to PM me for some money I suppose...

was it white? auto? if so, it was Murray from hamilton, think his son's on here - but na that doesnt count :)

If you (the "crap driver" in the ae86) were the fastest toyspeeder these all these other blow-a.sses have a lot to answer for. Well done anyway, bet that hundy feels quite good still in your pocket.

That starlet (in my opinon) was the best set up and best driven car there. I was amazed (and shocked) at how poorly MOST of the high powered big budget pro class cars were driven. Sadly, my little charade made 1 practice session then the gear box seized up. I suspect perhaps broken selector but will see when i get it out. Rather dissapointing considering all the sleepless nights, time, energy and cost that went into getting it ready... but thats the nature of motorsport i guess (particularly when one chooses to campaign a car thats almost 20 years old!)

No. It was a blue one. I didn't get his second lap time, but his first time was 1.24.
Looks like I'm keeping my money.

The best thing is that I'm certain I can go faster. I did a 1.29.80 on my second lap, and there was plenty of areas that I can improve in. But first and foremost I need to resolve a few small issues with the car. I think a 1.28 is well within my current possibilities.

I was most impressed by the driver of a RX-8 that was in my group. He drove really well! The car was stock apart from a lighter flywheel and he managed a 1.24 on his first run. Which was third in our group!

The starlet that Al's talking about was definitely impressive. Driven really well, and the car just went! And I'm sure it was a darn sight cheaper than the winners car, yet was 2nd overall!

I've heard a few more things about this day not very well attended spectator wise.
Also when will they have official lap times up???
Taupo is not a circuit for the so called high HP cars as it is to tight.I think all you'd need around there to go well is about 300-400 HP and a good brake and handling setup and you'd go really well especially as they were only using the new small track..

3x10 minute sessions plus two sets of hot laps. So all up about 20 laps plus the two timed laps.
About half the amount you'd get at a trackday.
But someone else did the timing which was nice.
All in all I'm happy. I now have something to improve on, if my car's ready for queens birthday.

Spectator numbers were pretty pants. I think half of the spectators were "pit crew".
I think if they run more of these, and people actually start to get behind this type of event it could be quite good. I think for spectators it was reasonably interesting to watch. Just needed more low money, low power cars.

haha you know I would have come to take that $100 off you :P If only I didnt crash and wreak my car  vs you next time when the aw11 is all operational.

I wonder if cage + reg and WOF still counts as a 'street car'?

Taupo is too far from auckland to spectate, need a venue closer to auckland thats no pukekohe

I would've welcomed the challenge... although your levin would've been quite a challenge to beat. All that power...
But yeah. The cage rule is a funny one... But I have a half so i don't mind.
