ae86 digi to analogue dash wiring q's whos done it ?

Postby AE85.6 » Wed Apr 25, 2007 3:23 pm

just checking who has done this as i have a couple issues,

first of all do both plugs for the cluster have to run an earth or just one ?
the blue light for high beam is on constant with ignition on or off.

oil pressure gauge does not work so far which i assume is because i need a different oil pressure switch ?

cheers

both should have secapart earths from memory

it draws its earth switched signal from the high low beem switch & has constance +12v

yes there different to go from switch/warning light to gauge

I did as I did one at work, may still have the diagrams,

also, AE86 has oil gauge analogue, and light on digital,
and the fuel senders had to be swapped over aswell, and I think the speedo drives were different calibration too.

We went from digi to analogue.

You realise that when the high beam is turned on,
The way it is wired from factory on toyota's it tells you when the low beam is turned off.

will look for the diagram at work tomorrow.

only on the early ones from my finding we were expecting to do this but then found the later ones to be the same for both

the difference is in the early gauge type all eletric & later gauge are the same

this depends on witch diff you have

altho i think you need the white plastic bit that holds the drive to the dash form your dash you want to use. or zip ties :P

just waiting for fuel sender to arrive then swap this and the oil sender which will sort those gauges.

however engine check light and overheat light are not going yet,
anyone know which wires and pins on the plugs are relevant for these ?

cheers
