replaceing 2k with 4k?

hi ther i would just like to know if i pull out the 2k from a kp61 and replace it with a 4k and 5 speed will things line up all good? like mounts, tunnel ,gear stick hole. was told that can be back more towards hand brake. also can you interchange parts? any help would be good thanks

If you get a five speed out of a Starlet it will line up exactly the same. However, there are five speeds out of Corolla's too, and they will require you to do some work.

We did 3k to 4k and it was all straightforward as far as the motor went.

The only trouble encountered was that the 4k clutch and clutch housing was larger, so fouled the gearbox in the car, thus had to come out again, and the 3k clutch, clutch cover, and flywheel to go in.
