Yeah, but did you read his sig? ;)

heh, somehow I missed that bit... umm, yeah, holy crap.

If I can get to 223.4(cops radar on closed road) in my little 141kw(at the engine) RunX shopping trolley, then I would say that you have a good chance of getting to 290(300 with diff) with a spare 333kw... at the wheels no less.

Where do i get another speedometer with a higher cut off point?

Its not the speedometer thats limiting you, its the ECU (computer) so unless you replace that, keep on dreamin

attually it is :(
without teh speed signal form the ecu it has no way of knowing how fast your going
so your both right

the speed cut is from the speedo
but no you cannot change it without some serious $&#$% around

theres a circuit available from jaycar that is meant for calibrating speedos that use an electronic pulse, such as the digital dash in my soarer. If you put one of these units between the speedometer and the ecu you can alter the signal so the ecu thinks you're going slower than you are, hence bumping up your speed cut. It can alter it from 0% to 99% up or down.

I've got one in my car since i've changed from auto to manual, changed the diff and also the wheels, so speed was wacky. wire to ecu is non existent so it throws a code but i can still go as fast as i like.

i'll word it differently- by cut off point i didnt mean limit. i meant the last number on the gauge, (cut off point) is 180. where and how do i get another speedo and what speedo that will give me "a bigger final number"

I've done over 200 in my evo, but the speedo stops at 190. The close ratio gearing is such that I don't think it would do over 230 top of 5th.

I ran my in a flying 1/4 event. It was an EVO 1 RS so supposed to have the short gear ratios in it,
100rpm off the limiter in 5th on 205/50/16's was clocked at 148mph,
which is about 238 kmh.

Haven't been over 180km/h yet. I think all speeds i've done/been over 150 km/h were in my car, and i've only driven it to the 180k limiter once.
