Aftermarket Steering wheel

Hey there,
Currently in the process of looking for a decent aftermarket wheel for my ae101 (kinda sick of the one that it has in at the moment)
I have been offered a evo 3 momo steering wheel
1. With the correct boss kit will it fit?
2. How hard is it to remove the current one / install the new one with the boss kit.

Assuming the momo wheel takes a standard momo boss kit(which it should) and also assuming you dont have an airbag, its a piss easy thing to do.

i have a feeling that that wheel was a factory option.therfore wheel and boss kit are combined.you cannot change that and the spline will only fit mitzys.momo made a few factory options for some makes e.g subaru.yould be looking for an aftermarket momo and toyota boss kit.

ive seen both senarios. many factory momos still use normal boss kits and can be adapted.


Shads, are you able to take a closer look at the wheel? it will then be obvious which of the two options above it is.

My civic i could do a straight switch to the momo, but when it came to the Legnum it was no can do

I think you need a Boss Kit for Toyota only, but most momo fit all Boss Kits. I changed mine, easier as, took just under 5 mins.

When you undo the nut to take the steering wheel off, leave it on the thread, and pull the wheel REALLY HARD.

If you take that nut off all the way you can strip the thread when the wheel comes off and **** it all up ...

not to mention hitting yourself in the face! a little wd40/crc will help as well, spray some on the spline before you put the new one on too, chances are you will want to take it off again to get it straight.

Yeah usually you pull the horn button off, sometimes they have screws under the wheel.
