W50 vs W55

Im sure this would have been covered but try as i mite i couldnt find any info on here,Ive got a w55 and a cast iron w50,what im trying to determine is 1. Are the power ratings of both boxes similar 2. Seeing as the intput/output shafts are the same on the W50 as the w55,W57 etc are the bearings the same size 3. How rare are these boxes and what model toyotas came out with them and lastly what series bellhousing are available for them,just t series ? Cheers

try a bit harder, there are plenty of pages on the w55-58 differences, the bellhousing configurations etc.

imo the w50 doesnt compare
they arnt rare, but they arnt really cheap.

Bro i didnt ask what the differences between w55-58's were

Cheers for that info bigboy,are the 90 and 190 figures the max hp?
Also where did u obtain this info is there a site comparing all the toyota boxes?

90 & 190 are the max HP toyota puts thro the boxes from the factory & have a look in tec FAQ theres a hole page on W boxes
