Question for Fivebob regarding ecu's for 3sgte

Postby dzk » Sun May 20, 2007 12:01 am

Map ecu? Opinion? Looking at this as an option for when I do the ecu upgrade.

Ride: st185 1990

Mods:
Manual boost controller
External Wastegate
Vr4 front mount
bov
boost gauge
rs ra vf8 subaru turbo
Group a downpipe
Running 12psi at the moment.
(Exhaust next)

Everything else standard.

This link claims 30kw on a st185 and has a few other cars as well.

I would be very interested in your opinion on this as I have read many of your posts regarding ecu's in this forum.

Anyone is welcome to comment. I just remembered fivebob's username as one of the regular posters of 3sgte info regarding ecu's.

Thanks

Map ecu's have been around for a while. I have heard good things about their new generation of ECU's.

Like all piggyback systems they have their limitations. alright if you have a low level of mods and just want a cheap system.

IMHO a full replacement ECU is the only way to go if you want to make real HP
