Use the AW11 4agze setup. Clutch / fly / pressure plate.

Good old toyota made the AW11 and W55 input splines the same diameter and spline count.

You can pick them up cheap as chips. I got the whole set-up off a wrecker for $90, got the fly skimmed and you've got yourself a tough as nails set-up. All you need to do is grind the inside of the bellhousing out a wee bit to allow it to spin freely.

Depends on what HP your 4age is putting out. fine for NA or Gze but if you're over 220-230 hp with a hard tuned setup, or 4agte you might want to run a puck clutch or custom fly / clutch.

As for whether the blacktop fly fits inside the niteparts bellhousing i have heard varying reports. Some say you can grind the inside of the bell out heaps and try to make it fit. My silvertop one didn't fit so i would assume the blacktop one wouldnt either. but it is toyota and anything is possible ay.

But if you sell your blacktop one then you'll have all the $$ you need for the AW11 set-up.

Hope this might help you out.

yer i am going turbo set up so i was going to runa puck, i work at repco so was going to buy a brand new oen to save hassles, i wil have to find the 230mm gze flywheel htough as i only have 2 200mm bluetop ones.

so the sw11 had the 29mm 21t input spline? and the niteparts bel housing wil need a light macine out to fit it?

cheers

Yep the AW11 (now SW20) mr2 had the 29mm 21t input spline. And also the ae92 if i remember correctly.

Bolt it all up on the engine, crank it over by hand, and where you see the flywheel has been 'chinking' on the inside of the bellhousing, you need to give it a quick angle grind to flatten this area. only about 3 to 5mm.

I run the 230mm flywheel in my ae86 with niteparts bellhousing, needed quite a bit of angle grinding to make enough clearance, but plenty of meat left for strength. Damn good clutch setup too 8) 1800lbs afterm modifying

I didnt think the Niteparts bellhousing needed modifying for the GZE clutch and flywheel? I asked before I bought my one for my project car
If it doesn't fit, force it.
If it breaks it needed replacing anyway!

are the above specs only applicable to the 4agze models?
is there a clutch kit available for the 212mm flywheel that still has the 29mm input spline? ill be running a w55 so if i can get a factory clutch kit that will bolt straight up to a 212mm flywheel AND w55 it'd be good.

thanks.

I have a 212mm flywheel which has a clutch kit that suits a w55 spline etc.. however it dosent have any part numbers on it, but it looks to be of the exedy brand.

exedy do a disk or puck disk for the W splines in sizes from 200-385mm going up in 5mm & some random other sizes then you just need to match it with a presure plate to sute your flywheel & a berring to sute you bell/plate arrangement this is going off the B&T info that they have for there exedy stocks altho not all are carryed in the country they can all be obtained
The faster you go the quicker you get there
