i have a genuine Garrett t3 which has been dyno'd on my 1ggte 2 litre at 190kw at the wheels on 13psi. I have a reciept for just under $1000 for work done to it. It has travelled less than 1000ks and had done a few dyno runs. i can send you the dyno plot if you are interested. I'm looking for more like 230-240kw now.
cheers matt. would like around $450 for it.

As for the ones on trademe just make sure you are not buying some chinese rip-off before you hand over your hard earned cash.

brand new ballbearing sti vf24 can be got for around 1100, and good for 220kw atw

if i were doing it from scratch id just use an evo tdo5 tho. should do the same as a vf24 if not more.

Just remember you won't be able to rebuild a b.b. turbo, as for the td05 from an evo it'd be pretty sweet although they are not as easy to find as they used to be.

I have been using one on my car for a while now, running 18psi, with antilag and no oil cooler and its been fine. A few others on here use the same turbos without any probs.

they a cheap as chips to rebuild aswell so you cant go to wrong.

OMG its Chinese we wont touch it!!! haha i hope they realize almost all the turbo makers out source to country's like Taiwan and Korea. but at least they have good quality control.

as long as the Chinese knock offs are built exactly the same as the brand names turbos its logic to think they'll perform just the same, given every thing is the same. metal's,sizing, clearance's, built process ect ect.. all they wont have is that brand name stamped on the side to show its JDM!!!

Well this is only what Ive been told, I have never actually enquired re; pricing as of yet as I havent had any probs with the XSPower one Im using. A guy on here has had them xrayed and they have come back tip top.

As a turbo specialist have you had anything to do with them? why wouldnt they want to touch them? just as a matter of interest :P

yeah, thats along the lines of what I was thinking.

I was told you can fit Genuine Garrett wheels etc to the T3/4's, so all that leaves is quality of the core really, which have been checked for quality as previously mentioned.

Im only posting "what I have been told", two turbo builders here in welly said they can be rebuilt.
