Postby corolla gt » Thu May 24, 2007 7:12 pm

hi i have a aw11 4agze bigport and am wanting to no bout the right pulley to get...it has been fully rebuilt and hasnt been runn in yet so i am thinking the 175mm 14psi pulley?

but i have a feeling from lookn at the motor that it wont fit....there is like a toothpick looking think above my crank pulley.i think it is a tensioner for the belt
would that have to be removed to fit the 175mm pulley my standard one is 155mm ......and will i have to do something about the waterpump pulley pretty dam close if it had a 14psi pulley...

any help guys

You have to cut that piece down to clear the pulley,
as far as I'm aware you won't have to touch the waterpump pulley, but you'll need a new belt tensioner. The one that sits to the top left of the crank I think.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The "Toothpick looking thing" is probably the timing marker. If you bought the pulley in a kit, there will be a replacement one, along with a replacement idler pulley.

a 175mm one will clear the waterpump, just chop the pointer off.

make sure the keyway/key is'nt damaged, Clean everything and use heaps of loctite on the snout and crankbolt.

do it up F@#$n tight :P

cusco kits use to come with a new timing pointer, they retailed in nz for $1600

some mazdas have a similar water pump pulley, a lot quicker and easier to get a new one made thou,

i dont recommend any thingover 175mm

if you want more power / boost just go turbo, a good turbo setup is way better

so what 16psi pully ant gona be worth it on a sc14 super charged motor? i cnt go turbo dont have the cash but im not shore if u can runn 16psi on standard ecu and i thought maybe the sc14 would give it more boost anyways since it bigger than the sc12?
so it will just pretty much be a gas guzler on the 180mkm pully

best option 175mm 14psi?

boost cut is at 15psi on ae101 ecu, 175mm pulley is the last upgrade before thinking about going to turbo.

you may see 14psi with a 175 pulley but boost depends entirely on the condition of you're blower.
