Changing my bonnet ?????

Postby L0rolla1 » Mon May 28, 2007 9:00 pm

ive got he quad throttle body seup wiv d silver trumpets on my blacktop 4age.

and was wondering if the a0101 gtz bonnet would bolt onto my ae101 rolla wagon with them both being ae101???

our would a better option be to buy a wrx scoop and have ot moulded to bonnet directly above the trumpets forcing air down onto/into them???

cheers for help

Not to sure about the compatibility of the AE101 bonnets.. But just beaware that the Trueno and Levin bonnets are different.. And the scoops on the gtz's are in the centre of the bonnet i.e. over the cam covers, not over the intake

If you really must its prob better to get the rex scoop mounted right on top of the trumpets..

like this guy on his AE111..

I have my old bonnet ofr sale mwhich is an ae101 corolla bonnet with an ae92 bonnet scoop. Its pretty ruff but you could prolly use it to put an AE101 scoop on it or what ever.

I want the bonnet gone, so dont want much for it. PM me an offer if ya want it

And don't forget other thing: the trumpets are a bit off to the right of the car so #1 and #2 will not be under the scoop anyway. If I were you I would make an airbox around it and say 4" hose feeding it from the guard.

what about having the wrx scoop, but having a box round the trumpets thats open on the top & buts up nicely to the underside of the bonnet, using some sort of rubber glued to the top edge of the box making a nice seal.

Means the scoop is centered so doesnt look like a blindman's done it & you get the benift of copious amounts of fresh cool air. But just be careful you dont make it so it sucks water down the trumpets.

I think there was an echo running this sort of set up i saw in one of the car mags, looked really good.
