Silver top ae101. Engine check light

Postby tex » Wed Jun 06, 2007 2:32 pm

Engine check light is permantly on. Reset the ecu, can't get any codes off it. Tried in plug in ODBC1 tool and did teh same thing.

Car runs like a bag of shit. won't rev out, and running very rich. like in limp mode. High k's on the motor. Doesn't sound like dentonation, but does have a bit of a rattle up the top. Was think knock sensor causing it, but no codes at all.

Attempted to try and unplug the knock sensor form the block but it in a pig of a spot.....grrr

Will try ecu next. Any other suggestions??

Thanks

Sounds like what mine did when the ECU lunched it's self.

Make sure you're bridging the correct wires in the diagnostics port, if you are and are getting no codes, it's most likely a dead ECU
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

Manual or Auto?

I may be able to do an exchange ECU for yours + cash if it's the ecu.

Sounds very much like the one I did a while ago that was an ECU fault.

And if its manual OR auto, I can sort you out a loan ecu to test if thats the problem before you buy one from matt or someone.

You've got my msn.
