any one know of a brake booster that is much thinner then the ae86's big balloon sized one? or even if its smaller in diameter. has anyone used one from another car that will fit. i just got some sexy velocity stacks the other day, they are 110mm long and don't really want to cut them down. but may have to if i cant find a smaller or thinner booster. any help would be great thanks

Another idea, run a remote booster, as found in mini's (and old rovers?)

Any chance you can mill the flanges on an angle a bit to bend them onwards and upwards out of the way?

not sure if you will have room in your car but in a EE90 you can run the booster on the inside of the car ?

neo; I'm not too sure how a remote booster will work in my car but I'll do some research and see what i can find.

thaphatty; yea i was thinking something like that, but instead of milling the stacks flange i was thinking of milling the manifold between the quads and head to point the whole throttle body unit upwards that will also give better flow into the port as well(bonus) but thats way too much work just to fit stacks, maybe in the future.

I'm running a ae85 booster now and its only a bit smaller in diameter

I'm like the idea of trying to find a thinner booster then a small one i think
I'm also liking the hammer idea haha
I'll get some pics of the velocity stacks up to show everyone why i don't like the idea of cutting them. they look so damn good everyone i show them to want to steal them when im not looking

I have two electric brake boosters here. Both identical, both from US based cars. Was going to use them for a sump excavation system, however projects change.

yea tried it, didn't really like it that much. maybe because i didn't have the right master to brake ratio right but still didn't really like the feel of the brakes. wont lock up

when i want them to. like driving a mini again hahaha

its not that its too hard for me to push down on the brake pedal with out booster. in fact i think my left leg is well up to the task, (i do muay Thai kick boxing) just don't like to feel of the brakes. i'm going to have a walk around the local second hand Toyota car dealer and see what cars have a thin booster.

also if any one is interested in buying some velocity stacks, ill be ordering more in some time next week. almost any size is available from pea shooter to t88 turbo bell mouth sized even bigger if you need. velocity stacks are about $40 each + $20 post/insurance.

did you get a booster in the end? I am trying to use a ke30 one which is smaller but it seems like the 4 studs which mount to the brake bracket are too short.

tip 1. use factory blacktop trumpets.
tip 2. use a vh44 remote booster for a hillman hunter etc or walk into safe R brakes and buy a brand new one for 125 which is cheaper than re-kitting a old slogged out one.
