celica gearbox..

Postby Jarsky » Mon Jun 11, 2007 12:37 am

Hey guys,

Ok im in need of some help on a celica. Im usually a nissan & mazda nut, hence i have a skyline & rx7 but recently came into a 92 Celica GT-4 for free. Only thing is that gear box is very bung, not sure if its the syncro's or what but im thinking just replace the whole thing.

What type of gearbox does the Celica GT-4 use and does anyone know roughly what it would cost to get a new one? I was thinkin maybe even a Supra W50 or W55 but im not sure if this will fit with the GT-4 engine? :S

any help would be great :D

Thanks!

Supra boxes wont fit a 3SGTE, 3SGTEs are east west while supra's are all north south.

Box your looking for is a E150F (standard box). There is one or 2 on trademe at the moment.

Got any pics of the GT4? Facelift ones definately arent common.

wont be able to take any pics until tomorrow night but i dont think its a facelift?

cheers for the info though, you just saved me some unwasted coin. not sure if the cars goin to be sold or kept at this point (dont think id be to popular having another car sitting on the lawn), but either way im sure its worth alot more with a gearbox that works properly :P

will check out that link and some auctions on trademe see what I can find :)

If its actually a 92 it will be a facelift. Depending on how much you'd want, im sure i could find some extra space for it  . Id take it as is as well...

Pics tomorrow would be cool (can you tell i love my ST185s?)
