I just bought a new car from a car dealer and they installed a new 5 star Uniden Alarm for me just over a week ago, now the alarm has started going off while driving and i am unable to disarm it, it stops....eventually! Does anyone have any ideas before i take it back...which i really dont want to have to do...

Take it back......if you make it worse because you don't know what you're doing, you'll be giving them fair reason to walk away from it.

i really like the car..just not the company i got it from (well not anymore after they have been sooo rude)

do u have a battery backup siren?
if the 12v/earth wires of the siren are loose, it can cause the siren to scream while u driving.
id say dats wot itd be

Yea take it back, they're supposed to sell you a car, not a shitheap that doesn't work properly.

I had the alarm people who did the install for the car company out and well apparently "the battery in the boot was loose" and otherwise didnt find any faults...anyways its started doing it again...back i go...again for about the 4th time

How is it a 5 star alrm if you can still drive it when it's going off i wonder?

5 Star alarm is battery backup,

so you can remove tha alarm and throw it in the boot and it will still be going off.

The only way to stop them is to use the key in the back.

I thought to be 5 star you had to have dual immobilizers?

I'm pretty sure its just the siren because its not arming or disarming itself when it goes off, the indicators don't flash or anything like that. I'm beginnging to wonder if the whole alarm is just faulty?

again, as Phreak said.. take it back.
Under warranty and companys problem, not yours. Enforce your consumer rights and get it fixed through them instead of worrying on a forum..

It will be going back, even if it is for the fourth time for another problem, would be nice if they knew anything about after sale service rather than a "you don't know what you are talking about theres nothing wrong" attitude!

Yup,

But the siren can be going off with the actual alarm being triggered.

By the sounds of it either the power or earth to the siren unit is faulty.
