silvertop 2>1 exhaust pipes.

Postby ChaosAD » Wed Jun 13, 2007 1:18 pm

Im going to modify a silvertop 2>1 exhaust pipe to fit an ae82.

Ive heard that there is a flat bit that needs replacing.
I Also remember someone saying something about the length, but that could have been about the 16v exhaust.

Should I keep it the same length? or is there a better length to change it to?

ill post pics of what ive done in the weekend.
i ran with the stock ones to start with, but had to bash them in even more to get them to clear the drive shaft (still not enough room as the exhaust hit the inner cv boot and pulled it off)

but all sorted now.

will post pics in the weekend.

yeah the flat bit that goes over the cross memember is all squashed and restrictive on the stock ones.

length, 500mm seems a common size used
theres all sorts of maths you can use to figure out a size for your use
